Summary | Axillary buds of flowering plants of Platycodon grandiflorum A. DC. cultivated in the field formed multiple shoots when cultured on MS medium supplanted with 0.3mg/L BA and 0.1mg/L NAA.The percentage of buds which formed shoots was 50% and the mean number of shoots per bud was 4.2. The shoot tips(approx. 1cm)of these in vitro subcultured shoots formed multiple shoots(average 3.5 shoots)when cultured on MS medium supplemented with 0.3mg/L BA and 0.03mg/L NAA. 100% of the in vitro shoots rooted when cultured in MS medium supplemented with 0.03mg/L NAA. The plantlets were transferred to vermiculite and cultivated in the field. |
