Summary | Induction and growth of seedling callus tissues, redifferentiation of the callus tissues into normal plants, and normal root culture of Achyranthes spp. (Amaranthaceae) were examined, and the effective conditions for the respective cultivation were determined. Formation of phytoecdysones in the cultured tissues was shown by bioassay (the Sarcophaga test), thin-layer chromatography, and gas-liquid chromatography of the extracts. |
